February 2019 Project Development Meeting

The Whatcom MRC Project Development Subcommittee works to brainstorm, develop, and prioritize projects the MRC leads to protect and restore marine resources.  The subcommittee works to secure additional funding for projects when needed.  Example projects include outreach to landowners, nearshore restoration, or scientific surveys.

*Speaker Series Event* Pinto Abalone Status Review

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is seeking public comment on a proposal to list the pinto abalone as a state endangered species.  Join the MRC on March 7 to hear a WDFW research scientist present information on why the species may be in peril of local extinction and how you can provide comment.
